I find seed germination is easier when done using a bit of hydroponic perlite than the wet tissue method. Less messy. Pre-mix the water with soluble plant food powder will give better results. These pok choy seedlings will be transported to pots outdoor when they are bigger.

Basil..finally
This basil has been in coma for a long time, growth just stunted for unknown reasons so I just left it in the pot. Amazingly, it is showing growth as the weather gets warmer and warmer. Wow!
How to get spring onion seeds
Older spring onion will flower generously.
When you see the flower, don't cut it. Wait till it has blossom a bit more, then bury some seeds in the soil and you will see new baby spring onions in a few days.

My first hydroponic projects. Cos Lettuce. Aquasol plant food
I have recently ventured into a small hydroponic project. I got some perlite, a few net cups, recycled milk bottles, aluminium foil sheets and aquasol plant food to get the project started.
A few cos lettuce seedlings have been transferred to the hydroponic setup and they seem to be responding well so far.

Baby spring onion progress after moving to bigger, self watering pot
I am not sure if it is the benefit of a self-watering pot or was it just more soil in a bigger plant that attributed to the baby spring onion's excellent growth just three weeks after moving them from round food containers to the self watering pot.

Carrot in DIY milk bottles
Progress of 3 baby carrots in DIY milk bottles. Last time I grew carrot in DIY milk bottles, it was a success. The carrot was shaped well as there was no competition with neighbour plants, stick to one milk bottle, one carrot.
Trimmed Chilli Pot
The chilli is covered with pest. I had to trim it down, removing all dead leaf. Fertiliser (blood and bone) has been sprinkled on the soil. Weather is turning warmer, hope it will produce fruits again.

Potato harvested!
The unexpected frosty weather last week killed my potato leaves and branches. I have no choice but to harvest them prematurely. The results were disappointing. Not that many potato and certainly not big enough.

How to treat unhealthy chilli pot
The chilli is looking unhealthy.
At the first sign of rolling leaves, just cut them off.
Keep up consistent watering and moderate fertilising.

Lovely Spring Onion Pot
I planted a few more spring onion roots in the existing pot and they have grown nicely over the month. One of the most satisfying plant to grow, no bug attack! It's nice to have fresh spring onion handy for each cooking.

45 days old Potato pot. Tips of growing potato
Get a deep pot or bucket and throw few pieces of potato in it.
Water it regularly and by the end of 5 months it will be ready for harvesting.
Chilli Growth
Patience is important very growing chilli. It won't bear fruits or showing any major shocking progress like leafy plant such as lettuce.
Chilli seeds will take several months, probably 6-9 months to get a size where it's ready to bear fruits in summer.

Sweet Alien Carrots!
Today I harvested all my carrots. I am truly surprised by their shapes and sizes. Definitely too small. This batch was grown in a small pot in using herb and veggie soil pot. They get plenty of sunlight and water. I believe the small size is due to too much competition in the same pot. As a consolation, they taste great though.
